From acid to albumin- today's best kept beauty treatments
Any changes to the skin are the first visible signs of ageing we see, so it's more than common that we seek for new anti- ageing products to rid the wrinkles and hide the natural process of ageing.
Since the introduction of anti wrinkle creams and serums on the market, we have seen the development of surgery, the popularity of the face lift on beauty television programmes and on our favourite ageing celebrities.
However, more recently, the introduction of non- invasive corrective treatments has become increasingly popular. Not only does it mean that you don't have to go under the surgeon's knife, but the results are just as effective.
To maintain healthy skin, all cells in the body need protein. These proteins encourage replacement of dead skin cells and maintain their production. A new treatment that contains these proteins is ‘albumin,' a substance related to the anti-wrinkle market.
Albumin is a substance not too widely discussed in relation to anti- ageing but it finds itself to be increasingly popular.
So what is albumin?
Albumin is a water soluble protein that can be coagulated by heat. They are found in egg whites, blood serum and milk. These proteins are also found in plant extracts.
Abnormal levels of Albumin can result in excessive leakage of fluid in tissues known as Edema.
Albumin also performs other functions; these are the transportation of nutrients and waste, the binding of toxins and heavy metals and the prevention of red blood cells sticking together.
The main uses for Albumin in the past have been to treat burns victims and to treat patients who are in shock due to haemorrhage after surgery.
During periods of surgery, patients may experience low levels of protein; Albumin can be administered to help raise the levels of protein in the blood.
Another less known, proven to be a very effective anti wrinkle product is hydronic acid.
Hyaluronic Acid is used as filler in the facial area.
Following extensive tests, it has been proven that if there is a Hyaluronic Acid deficiency in the body then premature ageing is likely to occur as the skin does not protect against the suns UVB rays as effectively.
Hyaluronic Acid otherwise known as dermal filler can stall the ageing process.
Hyaluronic acid is proving to be so popular because treatment can be as quick as fifteen minutes long. People can be in and out of a clinic during their lunch breaks. This seems a lot more convenient than going into surgery and spending a long time recovering, especially when these quick treatments have been proven to give very effective results.
Hyaluronic Acid dermal fillers, like with any other cosmetic treatment can have side effects and making sure it's the right treatment for you before you start is essential
However with Hyaluronic Acid, there is a much slimmer chance of a reaction because the body already produces the chemicals making it a much better option, meaning allergic reaction is very slim if not rare.
The treatment may be uncomfortable and can cause some swelling and bruising which should subside shortly after.
All treatments should be administered by a registered healthcare provider in a licenced clinic.
