What's hot in Indian Food this week?
I often wonder what people search for most on indianfood.about.com. The answer did not surprise me. This week's recipes are often among the top 5 most searched for items on the Site. Take a look, try them and see for yourself why they're so well loved.
Butter Chicken (pictured left): This dish has iconic status both in and outside India! Also commonly known as Murg Makhani, Butter Chicken tastes great with Kaali Daal (black lentils) and a green salad.
Garam Masala: Truly a magic spice blend, Garam Masala is easy-to-make and at the heart of numerous Indian dishes. It probably has as many recipes as there are families in India!
Chapatis (Indian flatbread): They are the perfect accompaniment to most Indian dishes. They're not difficult to make but the old saying "Practice makes perfect" was probably written for them. Learn how to make them with my step-by-step photo tutorial, How to make Chapatis.
Chicken Tikka: The word Tikka means bits, piecces or chunks. Chicken Tikka is an easy-to-cook dish in which chicken chunks are marinated in special spices and then grilled on skewers.
Naan: Naans are traditionally cooked in a Tandoor or earthern oven but can also be made in your oven at home.
