Is Harry Redknapp Right for the Spurs Job?
Tottenham have lately been changing managers a lot. But this season saw the worst start the club has seen for a very long time. Tottenham Hotspurs are at the bottom of the premier league and the odds of them finishing in the top four are very far fetched. But can Tottenham turn things around? Come out of the relegation area and qualify for Europe this year? Well lets take a look at there demise, and then have a look to see if Harry Redknapp is the right man to lead Tottenham back to their glory days.
Spurs were doing pretty well last year with there manager Martin Jol (besides from an upsetting start, but things were looking to improve), they were also getting quite far in the cups. But then the board decided to bring in a new manager Juande Ramos and a sporting director. Since then things decided to slip. In the summer spurs off loaded 3 of their best strikers in the form of Robbie Keane, Jermaine Defoe and Dimitri Berbatov. Their confidence levels fell to an all time low and they made their worst ever league start.
Tottenham had to do something and they needed to do it fairly quickly before things became even worse. They once again got rid of their manager, the third full time manager to go in 4 years and brought in one of the UK's best managers Harry Redknapp.
Harry Redknapp has had an amazing management career where he initially got himself recognised at West Ham Utd, making them finish as top 5 contenders and aiding the growth of world class players such as Joe Cole, Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick and his nephew Frank Lampard. After West Ham, Harry Redknapp moved on to Portsmouth, where he brought them back to the Premier League. After having conflicts with the directors he decided to leave and move on to Southampton before heading back to Portsmouth where he once again saved them from relegation and got them their highest Premier League finish as well as a FA Cup trophy.
This brings us to the present day and with Harry Redknapp now at Tottenham, can he make them one of the best teams in the UK again? Well I think the simple answer is yes! His first two games after taking over have been great, with a win at Bolton and then an Amazing comeback to grab a point from Arsenal.
It looks as though things are very much on the up at Spurs, as Harry Redknapp is not only a great manager but also knows how to boost up players morale and confidence.
